Payment, Fees & Payout Policy

This policy explains FoodieRow's fee structure, how vendor payouts work, and what affects payout timing. FoodieRow may update these policies at any time — continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the current posted version.

1. FoodieRow Does Not Take a Cut of Vendor Sales

FoodieRow charges platform fees for specific marketplace actions — not a percentage of what you earn at the event. When a vendor vends at a market, festival, or event, FoodieRow does not take any portion of that day's revenue.

Platform fees apply only to:

  • Vendor application fees (per application submitted)
  • Organizer event posting fees (per event listed)
  • The FoodieRow platform fee on organizer-paid vendor budgets
  • Optional promotional boosts (event feature, vendor profile boost)

2. Vendor Application Fee

Vendors pay a $10 non-refundable application fee when submitting an application to a paid event on FoodieRow. Some events may set a different application fee amount — the exact fee is shown before you submit.

The application fee makes your application eligible for organizer review. Paying the fee does not guarantee approval or event participation. It is non-refundable once submitted, including if you are not selected.

Some events may waive the application fee at FoodieRow's or the organizer's discretion. Free-to-apply events are clearly marked.

See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for refund eligibility.

3. Organizer Event Posting Fees

Organizers pay a one-time posting fee to publish a vendor call on FoodieRow. Fees vary by event tier:

Event TypePosting Fee
Community / Private / Nonprofit$25
Public Event / Pop-Up / Night Market$50
City / Government / Large Festival$75

The posting fee is non-refundable once your event request is submitted for payment. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for limited exception situations.

4. Organizer-Paid Gig: Platform Fee & Vendor Net Payout

Some events use the “Organizer Pays Vendor” payment model, where the organizer commits a budget to pay the vendor directly (rather than the vendor earning from their own sales). In this case, FoodieRow charges a 10% platform fee on the organizer-committed vendor budget.

Example

  • Organizer commits to pay vendor: $500
  • FoodieRow platform fee (10%): $50
  • Estimated vendor net payout: $450

The vendor net payout shown on FoodieRow is an estimate based on the organizer's committed budget. Actual payout is subject to event completion confirmation and the payout conditions described below.

The estimated vendor net payout is shown to the vendor during the application process. FoodieRow does not show the internal fee breakdown (gross amount and platform fee) to vendors — only the net payout estimate.

5. Payout Eligibility & Timing

For organizer-paid gigs, vendor payouts are not released automatically or immediately after the event. Payout eligibility follows this process:

  1. The event ends
  2. FoodieRow sends the organizer a post-event confirmation request
  3. The organizer confirms vendor participation — or reports an issue
  4. If confirmed, the payout moves to “eligible for release” status
  5. FoodieRow reviews the payout and, absent any holds, initiates the payout process

Once payout eligibility is confirmed, FoodieRow aims to process payouts typically within 24–72 hours of payout eligibility, unless there is:

  • A dispute or issue reported by the organizer
  • A cancellation before or after the event
  • A payment processing issue or chargeback
  • Missing or incomplete vendor payout information
  • An account review or risk hold initiated by FoodieRow or our payment processor
  • Any other circumstance requiring manual review

FoodieRow does not guarantee exact payout timing. “Typically within 24–72 hours” is a target, not a binding commitment.

6. Current Payout Process

Vendor payouts for organizer-paid gigs are currently processed manually by the FoodieRow team after event completion is confirmed. We do not use automated Stripe payouts to vendor bank accounts at this time.

If you are a vendor on an organizer-paid gig, FoodieRow will contact you to confirm payout information before your first payout is processed. FoodieRow will communicate the payout method and timeline directly.

7. Vendor Pays to Vend — Booth & Vending Fees

For events using the “Vendor Pays to Vend” payment model, vendors may be required to pay a booth or vending fee after being selected by an organizer. On these events, FoodieRow collects the booth or vending fee through Stripe on behalf of the organizer.

Booth Payments Are Held for Event Protection

Booth payments collected through FoodieRow are held by FoodieRow and are not immediately transferred to the organizer. Holding funds protects vendors in the event of cancellation, organizer non-delivery, or disputed attendance. FoodieRow is not a financial institution and these held funds are not a deposit account.

Vendor Spot Confirmation

After a vendor's booth fee payment is confirmed, the vendor's spot may be marked as confirmed on FoodieRow. Payment confirmation does not guarantee that the event will take place — that depends on the organizer fulfilling the event as posted.

Organizer Payout — Not Automatic During Beta

Organizer payout of held booth funds is not automatic. During beta, FoodieRow manually reviews and releases eligible organizer funds after the event. Release may be delayed or blocked if:

  • There is a cancellation, no-show, or disputed event attendance
  • The vendor reports being denied setup or event access
  • A chargeback or payment dispute is filed by the vendor
  • There is a compliance issue, event change, or safety concern
  • FoodieRow admin determines that manual review is required for any reason

FoodieRow does not guarantee that held booth funds will be released to the organizer on any specific timeline or at all if a valid dispute or hold condition exists.

Partial Early Release

Verified organizers may request partial early release of held booth funds if approved by FoodieRow. This is not guaranteed and is subject to review on a case-by-case basis.

Vendor Refund Requests

Vendors may request a review of their booth fee if the event is canceled by the organizer, if they are denied setup or access at the event, or if the event is materially changed from what was posted. Booth fee refunds are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are not automatic or guaranteed. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for full detail.

Note:This held-funds model applies only to Vendor Pays to Vend events processed through FoodieRow's Stripe integration. For events where an organizer collects booth fees directly (outside FoodieRow), those arrangements are between the vendor and organizer. FoodieRow is not a party to off-platform booth fee transactions.

8. Third-Party Payment Processors

FoodieRow uses Stripe to process application fees, posting fees, and promotional purchases. By making a payment on FoodieRow, you agree to Stripe's terms of service and privacy policy in addition to these policies. FoodieRow does not store your full payment card details.

9. Promotions & Optional Boosts

Organizers and vendors may optionally purchase promotional boosts to increase visibility in search results and listings. Promotion fees are non-refundable once the promotional period begins. See the Pricing page for current promotional rates.
