Ratings & Reviews Policy
This policy explains how ratings and reviews work on FoodieRow, what is expected of reviewers, and how FoodieRow handles review disputes. FoodieRow may update these policies at any time — continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the current posted version.
1. Reviews Must Be Based on Real Experiences
All ratings and reviews submitted on FoodieRow must be based on a genuine, first-hand experience on the platform — such as attending or organizing a FoodieRow event, participating as a vendor, or working through the FoodieRow application process.
Reviews must not be:
- Fake: reviews submitted without a real FoodieRow interaction
- Paid or incentivized: reviews exchanged for money, discounts, or any benefit
- Retaliatory: reviews submitted to punish someone for a dispute, complaint, or legitimate negative feedback they gave you
- Discriminatory or harassing: reviews that target someone based on race, gender, religion, national origin, or other protected characteristics
- Misleading: reviews that exaggerate, distort, or omit material facts about the experience
2. Who Can Leave Reviews
Reviews on FoodieRow are connected to specific event interactions. Review eligibility:
- Organizers may rate vendors they approved and confirmed after the event
- Vendors may submit experience feedback after the event through FoodieRow's post-event feedback process
Reviews from parties who did not actually complete an event interaction through FoodieRow are not valid and will be removed.
3. What FoodieRow May Remove
FoodieRow may remove or modify reviews that contain:
- Personal contact information, private addresses, or other protected personal details
- Threats, hate speech, obscene language, or targeted harassment
- Spam, promotional content, or unrelated advertisements
- Content related to a completely different business, platform, or experience
- Reviews submitted by someone who was not actually party to the event interaction
- Fabricated claims that we have evidence contradict the actual event record
- Content that violates applicable law
4. What FoodieRow Will NOT Remove
FoodieRow will not remove a review solely because it is negative. Honest, negative feedback based on a real experience is a legitimate part of how our marketplace operates. It helps other vendors and organizers make informed decisions.
Organizers or vendors who pressure FoodieRow to suppress legitimate negative reviews — or who threaten legal action as a strategy to silence genuine feedback — may have their accounts flagged for review.
5. Rating Process
After an event, FoodieRow initiates a post-event confirmation process for organizer-paid gigs. As part of this process:
- Organizers are asked to rate their experience with the vendor (1–5 stars) and leave optional written comments
- Vendors are invited to share their experience at the event through a separate feedback process
- Both are optional — providing a rating is not required to complete the confirmation
FoodieRow may expand the rating system to other event types in the future.
6. Disputing a Review
If you believe a review about you on FoodieRow violates this policy — for example, it was clearly fabricated, is retaliatory, or contains private information — you may submit a dispute request to support@foodierow.com with the review details and your basis for the dispute.
FoodieRow will review the request and make a determination at our discretion. We may request evidence from both parties before deciding. We do not share private correspondence or investigation details.
FoodieRow's decision on review disputes is final as a platform operator.
7. Responding to Reviews
In some cases, FoodieRow may provide a mechanism for the reviewed party to respond to a review. If a response feature is available, response content is subject to the same standards as the original review — it must be professional, honest, and not retaliatory or harassing.
8. Vendor Ratings in Profiles
Vendor average ratings may be displayed on vendor profiles to help organizers evaluate applicants. This is a transparency feature and is intended to reflect honest, aggregate marketplace experience. FoodieRow does not inflate, hide, or otherwise manipulate ratings except to remove reviews that violate this policy.
